This is another painting based on one of my favorite photos – a Boso pirogue (dugout canoe) carries people across the lake of Selengué in the south of Mali. The setting sun bathed everything in orange light and is beautifully reflected in the water of the lake. I have a hard time deciding which I like better – the original photo or the painting.
